Pres. Sardosky Talk on Banning the Burka

Nicolas Sarkozy delivers a speech during a congress at Versailles Palace

The French President Sardosky made a speech about the possible burka, Muslim head to to dress ban that they are looking into. He wants a separation between church and state. The best thing to do is to look at the article to see what he is saying. I think it is fair. I myself think it's a good idea. I wish they would do it in the US or at least attempt to do something about it. He wants it to be also because the woman doesn't really want to wear it. He is concerned about it taking away her rights. It will be about freedom of choice. Pres. Sardosky is letting himself in for a debate with it but I think it is a good idea. I think it is a good idea they have the scarf ban in schools.

The difficult thing is how are they going to tell if a woman is possibly beaten for not wearing one? She won't be able to tell them and then would have to go home. I think many don't mind wearing it. It gives them something different to wear and it is like a costume. It is actually like dragging it in people's faces. Some feel as if they can't go without it probably. I've seen them say that they like wearing it. They can be proud of it as being part of their heritage and religion.

It lends an old fashioned air to the office to me and it is oppressive. It can also be exciting to them because then it comes off. They are hidden underneath and it is a mystery. So it makes them mysterious. Some of the guys think it's fine it's different. One in the picture that they are showing in the article looks like lingerie on her.

I was a temp in the French office in NY. I think they are a little angry with me and I with them. But it is ok really I think.

If not that I wish they would at least give them a talk about other garments to wear. You know also since if others are in Arab countries they need to cover up I don't know why we should make exceptions for them. It think they are in another country and should dress right just to be polite. They don't have to go around in mini skirts.

Another thing about the dress code like in banks I don't think is fair is they are standing there like that with a full outfit on to the floor and others aren't supposed to wear a long skirt. If I wanted to do that I couldn't. So I don't think it is fair. We are also not supposed to wear head coverings. The exception is for "religious" reasons. I don't really need to wear a head covering but i think it is annoying.

It was also in the case of the girls from Afghanistan very much not being getting used to our culture in the United States. Their guys, like others from countries that are seeing men as very important, then also see other women not in a covered outfit as not dressing right. They want them to be all covered up and if they are not they could have an attitude. If they have the attitude that women have to have a head covering in their old country than they do it in France or another country also. Allowing them to dress like that enforces the idea that it is important to them.

I see it and others do also as a problem because you can't identify them. There was a thing going on in the US where a woman wouldn't take it off for her driver's license. Others would have to. How could one identify her and that would be the point of it? Also what if she were going to commit a crime? Things could be hidden under it. It is what you look for in security work. You are supposed to stop someone who is wearing a coat for instance, and it is hot.

A man could even be disguised in a burka type of dress. They said they had found out they were going to use Jewish disguises they thought the terrorists may have planned an attack like that in NYC.
